Nottingham Rehab Centre – What is Rehabilitation?
Nottingham Rehab Centre – What is Rehabilitation? Rehabilitation or “rehab” as it is more commonly known, is the psychological process, normally done in a residential rehab centres, to help a client get through the trauma of addiction to drugs or alcohol. It is the “classroom stuff” which helps the client understand why they have an addiction, and how to mentally get through it. This is a very important part of ones journey to recovery, from drugs or alcohol addiction. This normally takes place during, and after the client is detoxed in group sessions. What do we look for when doing rehabilitation?
The main purpose is to find the underlying issues which are causing the client to drink, or take drugs. This could be for many reasons such as abused when they were younger, bereavement, bullying etc. Some trauma in the clients life which is causing their issue. We need to find this to help the client move forward. The good thing is, once the client can face their fears, the process becomes much easier to deal with. Do I need rehabilitation?
If your drinking is out of control. There will be reason for this. But saying that. Some clients can have a detox, and then everything becomes clear to them, why they were drinking to excess. I would seriously recommend rehabilitation for anyone with an addiction, as it will help you get through your life with a better understanding on why you had your addiction, and more to the point, how to stay off it. It would be a great shame after giving up your addiction, to go back to it because you had not had the right help from the beginning. Tel: 07811 606 606 (24 hours)
